What’s On La Habana, May 2013 is all about the music at Cuba’s premier music awards ceremony, Cuba Disco which takes place from May 18-26 in Havana. As well as a selection of Cuba’s best contemporary musicians expect to see the first performances of music composed by Juan Formell, founder and director of Los Van Van, with symphonic arrangements by Joaquín Betancourt.
Elsewhere in Havana you will seldom be far from the sound of music. Look out for Miramar’s new jazz club (Café Jazz Miramar) and a new rap venue, La Sesión at Delirio Habanero.
