This is the perfect place to visit after an afternoon at the beach at the weekend. A vegetable garden produces some of Cuba's best tomatoes and an authentic Italian pizza oven delivers a steady stream of the best pizzas in Cuba; try the Diablo. The decor is light Italian kitsch and the atmosphere is relaxed with reasonably efficient service.

The high prices can't really be justified, nor is it suitable for an intimate experience, but La Divina Pastora really does have a fantastic view of the bay. The food is nice enough, but doesn't turn up any real surprises.

This is a favourite place for many expats living in Tararat which may suggest more about the lack of good alternatives that the particular merit of Maeda which is a pretty average place which serves a range of grilled meat pizza and pasta.

This snack bar/grill has all the views of the nearby over-priced Divina Pastora restaurant, but lower prices. The food is similar too, with fish and seafood the specialities, plus grilled meat and combos A traditional music group plays in the evenings.

For tradional Creole food and a fine view of the Malecón, the Twelve Apostles, situated at the foot of the lighthouse by the Morro Castle, is a good bet. The meat platter is good value and will not leave you hungry. At 11pm the place turns into a good nightclub.
