As part of the Ignacio Cervantes International Piano Competition held in Havana from 3-20 March, the national Symphony Orchestra will play two key works from the romantic repertoire: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto No. 1 for piano and orchestra, with the performance of American pianist Alexander Braginsky as soloist; and Frederik Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 for piano and orchestra, performed by Cuban maestro Víctor Rodríguez.
